BRANDON CAMPHOR & ONE WAY GEAR UP FOR AUGUST 7th RELEASE OF NEW SINGLE – “YOU ARE GOD”

IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE YOU ARE GOD RELEASE – ONE WAY ANNOUNCES A NEW SERVICE INITIATIVE: THE “BE LIKE G.O.D.” CAMPAIGN

New York, NY – July 27, 2012 – The highly anticipated single from Brandon Camphor & One Way is set for an August 7th release worldwide. The single, “You Are God” is a majestic declaration of God’s love and care for the world. You Are God marvels at how God keeps the world in His hands. The song is not only an assertion of the love of God but also a call to service for all to reach those that God cares immensely about. You Are God is the impetus behind the adjoining service campaign kicking off on the same day – the “BE LIKE G.O.D.” campaign with GOD being an acronym for Giving to Others Daily.

Singer/Songwriter Brandon Camphor says the message behind the song is to create “an urgency to care about people’s needs among the body of Christ.” Camphor says “I have the desire to be like Christ and Christ cares about every person in this world – He cares about our deepest desires, our needs, and though He is sovereign and attending to the needs of all – He still cares about me.”

Keeping in mind the vastness of God’s ability to care about each of his people and God’s specific ability to know what each of His children are in need of; You Are God took on an even deeper meaning as Brandon Camphor & One Way prepared for a missions trip to Ethiopia. In preparing for the trip (which was later postponed) the group learned of the need for new water valves to be built in the country of Ethiopia. The idea that water, something that Americans take for granted, was such a large commodity in other parts of the world; resonated profoundly with the group. Learning of the needs of the people they were preparing to serve pulled on the heartstrings of the group and birthed an insistent desire to give back. Soon after, the BE LIKE G.O.D. campaign was developed as a tangible way to engage One Way supporters both nationally and internationally to be like God by giving daily to others and serving “the least of these” as the bible commands in Matthew 25. Dove Award nominee, Brandon Camphor & One Way is perhaps best known as the winning group of the 2011 Most Powerful Voices Competition co-sponsored by GMC and The American Heart Association.
