DEITRICK HADDON PRESENTS THE VOICES OF UNITY – A BEAUTIFUL SOUL (TYSCOT)

Reviewed By Tony Hall

The A Beautiful Soul soundtrack is another strong effort from Deitrick Haddon. He was able to have a nice mix of bounce tracks, holy hip hop, and praise anthems combined with all star talent. Faith Evans is featured along with Deitrick on the opening track No Betta.

Nikki Potts of the Kurt Carr singers adds her powerful ad lib vocals to New Life a song which closes out the film after the lead actor finally gives his life to the Lord. Whose project would be complete without featuring The Goddaughter of gospel music Kierra “Kiki” Sheard. She puts her soulful youthful touch on Marching Orders.

Deitrick features himself on the title cut, A Beautiful Soul. It is sung in his signature balladeer gospel fashion. Adia lends her expertise on Incomplete. Canton Jones and Jason Champion team up on the More I Praise. Candy West lends her powerful vocals on Love Did It. This soundtrackish effort rendered perfect song selections to go alongside a poignant film.

Favorite tracks are Marching Orders, Beautiful Soul, This Church and The More I Praise. A trip to the theater will bring the songs more to life and enhance your listening pleasures.
