ANTICIPATION – DAMITA

With the recent release of her third and most ambitious CD, entitled Anticipation, the real ‘anticipation’ of listening to new Damita music has finally subsided.

The richness in the depth of Won’t Turn Back has a peculiar nuance to it which blends well with the youthful and crisp tone of Damita’s voice; artist Regala adds flavor with his inspirational rap delivery to conclude the track. An eclectic vocal effect throughout the song holds a uniquely catchy melody.

Bringing edginess to the song Still Here are what the vibrant drums and smashing keyboards achieve. Damita meticulously meshes with the track in expounding on mental paralysis, wasted time, and pitfalls as she concludes that through all of the ‘hurricanes,’ she is Still Here within God’s plan.

Praise You Now is a sensationally subbing(woofer that is) song of giving praise to the Man above despite the negative circumstances which may arise. Damita claims demonstratively, atop the singeing rock guitar, “Got trouble on every side/make you wanna run and hide” but “Don’t let nothing stop your praise.”

Adding a timely shift in mode, You’re Amazing God ‘switches it up’ to a more traditional yet splendidly up-tempo feel on the record. The conviction and conciseness in which Damita delivers this amazing song forces, reinforces, and can make even a non-believer subscribe to the fact that: You’re Amazing God!
