REVIEW: BEAUTIFUL – TIM BOWMAN, Jr.
Reviewed By Frank Bocage
Tim Bowman Jr is a Michigan native with family ties to music as his aunt is well known gospel artist Vickie Winans, who appears on his debut album Beautiful, and his father is jazz musician Tim Bowman who executive produced the cd. Though only 23 years young, Bowman Jr’s extensively seasoned musical background looms apparent on the musical bouillabaisse of a cd: Beautiful.
The introductory track Throw It Away highlights the diversity to be witnessed on the forthcoming album as Tim Bowman Jr lets it be known that God can take the key to his heart and Throw It Away.
The second song Free starts off slightly monotonous but ends powerfully with Bowman Jr showcasing his wealth of vocal range even at the lower end of the scales as he usually commands the falsetto side effortlessly.
I felt that the benchmark of the cd was the third song named Sunday Morning featuring Dorinda Clark Cole in that it has an extremely uplifting and happy beat, tantalizing organ play, spine singeing horns, piercing rock guitar, rock-bottom bass tones, and then accompanying the music are the fabulous Dorinda Clark Cole and Tim Bowman Jr flawlessly executing this song of worship.
